Since the fortress is in the deep Wilderness, take only the quest items, a ring of visibility, a piece of rope, an anti-dragon shield, and maybe a weapon.

Pass the ice monsters and metal dragons, navigate the fortress and enter its basement. Run to the south-west corner to get a heat orb and run back upstairs.

Across from the fortress entrance, look for a pillar that you can jump over. Get over it and go through a cave entrance to arrive at the Mahjarrat Ritual site.

At the ritual site, first setup the rope shortcut using a rope on a overhanging tree near a cave entrance in the north-west corner. Climb down the rope and back up so that, if you die, your gravestone will appear at the shortcut rope rather than past the Ghorrock dragons. Avoid undead broavs the entire time you are on the plateau.

Now, setup the Zaros beacon network. Return to your initial entry point to the ritual site. Run west and put a beacon in the first multi-branched tree you see.
Run due south from the north tree and plant a beacon on the tree opposite of the north-beacon tree. A little bit north-east of the south beacon tree, use Arrav's heart on a pile of rock to hide it.

Head to the ritual totem, stand next to it, and run west. The western beacon goes in the tree slightly north and out of alignment relative to the totem. Run due east to find the eastern beacon tree.

If you happen to be detected by a broav, you will be locked in Zemouregal's castle. Escape by looting a chisel and spade from the bed and interacting with a tile.

Now that the beacons are ready and Arrav's heart hidden, run south-west and to Zemouregal's castle (or get caught by Broav). Kill the zombie at its south-east corner and pickup decoder strips and an entrance code key. The key tells you which letters the strips overlap when you interact with a keypad. When a strip goes over the numbers in a letter row, a number is revealed for the pass-code. It makes more sense when you watch me do it.

Inside the entrance hall of the castle, search a box for a storeroom code key. Similar to the entrance decoding, use the strips to gain entry. Loot a crate to find notes on heart magic and the code key for the reliquary. Climb the east staircase and enter the reliquary. Smash the black prism and return to the Ritual site.

Go to the south-east corner and speak with Moravio twice so that he says he senses the Stone of Jas nearby. Equip the ring of visibility and run west to find a shadow pillar. Investigate the pillar and place a heat globe to reveal an ice tunnel. Before entering, leave the plateau and gear up for the ritual.

Your armor should very protective against magic or range. Use your best weapon, but keep in mind many of your enemies are weak to crush and fire spells. Have an emergency teleport.
Use rocktails or sara brews, have 2-3 prayer potions, and access to protect from melee curse or prayer.
A beast of burden for holding food is optional.

Cutscenes act as checkpoints, meaning you can teleport away and take a break after each one.

Return to the Ritual site through the west coast of the Trollweiss hunter area (fairy ring code D.K.S) and taking a canoe. When you land, ascend using the rope you setup earlier.
Return to the shadow pedestal and enter the ice cave you unblocked. Go to the end of the cave and interact with the Stone of Jas.
