   01. Download the MX Linux iso  https://mxlinux.org/download-links/
   02. Log into the Proxmox web UI
   03. Select a storage from the left navigation pane to download the .iso to
   04. Select ISO Images in the left sub-navigation pane
   05. Upload the MX Linux installation iso to the Proxmox ISO image library
   06. Right click the Proxmox node name ≫ Create VM
   07. Give the VM a unique ID and Name ≫ Next
   08. On the OS tab, Select the MX Linux installation .iso file, leave the Type as Linux and the Version as 5.x - 2.6 Kernel ≫ Next
   09. Leave the defaults on the System tab ≫ Next
   10. On the Hard Disk tab, set the Storage device and Disk size to 30 GiB or more ≫ Next
   11. On the CPU tab, set Cores to 2 or more and Type to host ≫ Next
   12. On the Memory tab, set the Memory to 4096 ≫ Next
   13. Leave the defaults on the Network tab ≫ Next
   14. Verify the summary and click Finish
   15. Right click the MX Linux VM in the left navigation pane ≫ Start
   16. Click console in the left sub-navigation menu
   17. Press Enter to load MX Linux
   18. Click Install MX Linux on the MX Welcome dialog box
   19. Press Escape to cancel checking the installation media
   20. Click Change Keyboard Settings if needed ≫ Click Next
   21. Click Next and then Yes to confirm the partition selection
   22. Enter a computer name, domain and workgroup ≫ Click Next
   23. Select a Locale and Timezone ≫ Click Next
   24. Enter a username, user password and root password ≫ Click Next
   25. Wait while MX Linux copies files and installs
   26. Click Finish, the VM will reboot
   27. When prompted to remove the installation media, navigate back to the Proxmox web UI and stop the VM
   28. Select Hardware from the left sub-navigation menu ≫ Double click the CD/DVD drive ≫ Select Do not use any media ≫ Click OK
   29. Select Options from the left sub-navigation menu
   30. Double click QEMU Guest Agent ≫ Check the Use QEMU Guest Agent box ≫ Click OK
   31. Right click the MX Linux VM in the left navigation pane ≫ Start
   32. Click console in the left sub-navigation menu
   33. Login with the username and password set during the installation
   34. Welcome to MX Linux

   01. Launch a terminal window
   02. Run the following commands
         # update software repositories
         sudo apt update
         # install qemu guest agent
         sudo apt install qemu-guest-agent -y
   03. A subsequent reboot is required to complete installing the QEMU Guest Agent
