S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2021 ) Video #49: Jupiter Plant & Documents
I left Yanov Station and headed over to the Quarry. Keep in mind I had skipped an earlier scenario, where the Mercenaries were at the Cement Plant mixed in with Bandits. Would these two groups actually tolerate each other? I don't think so but regardless it was bad for me getting the loot after the battle. Redoing things, I still had the two random Mercenary assassinations squads to meet. In a previous Game I had been at the digger when they appeared from the west coming down the sloped hills to attack me. Another time I was traveling up the sloped hills at the south end of the Quarry and ran into them there.
For this reason, I was hoping to run into the Mercenaries out in the open, without another Faction among them to steal their high-end weapons and other loot. However, this did not happen. Instead, I had other mishaps in this video as you will see. I was trying to make a Manual Save when the "K" lock key got stuck on my keyboard. This was embarrassing but I left it in.
Then I moved on to the Jupiter Plant for the second time, to go past the front building where I had previously grabbed all the needed Documents but one ( the Document on the desk in the office that triggers the attack of the Mobile Lab Mercenaries ) and I headed to the rear to search for stashes and go inside buildings.
I fumbled around with one of the Monolith stashes ( as indicated by their symbol painted next to it ) where I could not reach all the blue medkits and fell several times. Also embarrassing. Then after an emission and inside the shelter of the Jupiter Plant, I accidently clicked on the wrong item and took an anabiotic when it wasn't even intended or needed. I reloaded a Manual Save there to correct that mistake. I think I had stayed up way too late, was very tired and needed to go to bed at this point. A classic case of the mind wanting to keep playing but the body was becoming fumbling and careless.
I'll always feel that the inside of Jupiter Plant was a little disappointing. A couple of Pseudodogs was just not enough excitement and as a mutant challenge, rather anticlimactic. I guess GSC was going for the suspense of the unknown. The Player was expecting a surprise attack that never came.
