4The Best of the best, the day right after the Hunter's Moon, we have the *exactly* 98% illuminated Waning Gibbous moon. Watch this short 40 minute video as you see the moon rise and wane. The first 10 minutes is watching Jupiter, cuz we are waiting on the moon. After the moon becomes visible, I focus on it.

If you came here trying to pass the moon quiz, then here are some definitions:
Phases:
WAXING: when the moon becomes more illuminated
WANING: when the moon becomes less illuminated
Crescent: less than 50% of the moon is illuminated and creates a sickle shape
Half (or quarter): exaclty 50% of the moon is illuminated (come after the full but before the new = 3rd quarter. Came after the new but before the full = 1st quarter)
gibbous: the moon makes an ovular like shape in the sky, more than 50% of the moon is illuminated, but less than 100%.
Full: all of the moon's surface is illuminated.
New: none of the moon's surface is illuminated.
ECLIPSES
lunar eclipse: when the earth passes between the sun and moon, casting a shadow onto the moon.
solar eclipse: when the moon passes between the sun and earth, casting a shadow on earth.

Welcome to today’s live stream
IF THIS STREAM IS NOT A MOON STREAM, THIS DOES NOT APPLY IN THE DESCRIPTION. But continuing on: I am using a Gskyer AZ70400 Refractor Telescope on a AZ tripod mount. I am either using the 25mm lens or 10mm lens. The 25mm lens zooms in more, and the 10mm less, so I will commonly use the 10mm lens. Also note that the streams may be less than an hour long, so get in here before it ends! The goal is to see great imagery of the moon, no matter the phase of it, but I especially want to see the golden handle effect on the waxing gibbous moon. I will also implement timestamps to the video replay, and open it up to the public in case you miss the stream.
