Saber Lily Distant Avalon: A Legendary Figure That Still Holds Up 13 Years Later
This month's Hall of Fame episode 2 features an anime figure that attracted me to jump into the hobby of collecting figure itself. After seeing this 1/7 scale figure of Saber Lily Distant Avalon by Good Smile Company being displayed in Wonder Festival sometime in 2008 in an event coverage, I knew I needed to have one. I did not play Fate Unlimited codes, but I was already a big fan of Fate Stay Night back then.
As a college student trying his best to save up, getting into the hobby or affording this figure wasn't easy. It took some effort to get my hands on one as she became rare, before being re-released twice, several years later.
This figure of Saber, together with Black Rock Shooter, are legendary. More than a decade later, their quality still stands up to newer and more modern figures released today in year 2022. They don't look out of place on your shelf, even if you were to purchase one today. The best news? It's not difficult to find one - 6 years after her last re-release.
