Note that timing is from power-on, about 0:08 in the video, until selection of "I'VE GOT NONE," about 1:00:18 in the video.

This is a single-segment speed run of the character T260G of SaGa Frontier. This was done on a PS2, SCPH-90000. The fast disk option was used. The controller model used was SCPH 10010. This was recorded with a capture card.

I pause buffer here far more than in the run completed on the U.S. version. Additionally, I use a technique to prevent BP from rising above a certain value in order to limit Genocide Heart's HP. In the previous run, I was rather lucky and managed to do this without seeking similar enemy sprites.

Note that BP=BRP if you read an English FAQ.

To expand on this technique, basically BP must not exceed 31 prior to reaching Genocide Heart. BP is the thing that controls things like the battle rank of the main enemy in random battles and often times the HP of fixed enemies. Assuming you play without system data,
BP's initial value is 0. It increments by 1 each time the following three events are satisfied:

1.The last main enemy you fought can give BP.
2.The last main enemy you fought is at or above current battle rank.
3.Of the set of the last four main enemies you fought, two must be at or above current battle rank.

When BP is between 0 and 15 inclusive, battle rank is 1. When BP is between 16 and 31 inclusive, battle rank is 2. When BP is less than or equal to 31, Genocide Heart's HP is 5000. However, when BP is between 32 and 63 inclusive, Genocide Heart's HP is 10000.
For most character's reaching the final boss with BP less than or equal to 31 is trivial. And it doesn't matter at all in the case of Lute. But, in T260G's chapter there are 41 forced encounter that have the ability to increase BP. 41 is greater than 31; therefore it can be useful to find methods to avoid increasing BP above 31.

Assuming that no non-forced battles with the exception of the Dead Knight X 2 and Caballero 400 credit battles are accepted, then by the time MecGod is defeated, BP will be 11. Then come the 30 forced battles prior to Genocide Heart. After 5 battles of which at least 3 should be vs. distinct non-Vulcan sprites, BP will be 16. The next enemy sprite is very important. Fight a battle vs. any non-undead enemy sprite. The undead sprite will contain a Ghost which has sonic immunity. Avoid Vulcan sprites as well, not for BP purposes but because the battles are time consuming. After this battle BP will be 17. Now the next 10 battles should be vs. this same enemy sprite. I made a mistake and fought one additional battle. After the tenth such battle BP will remain 17. Then, fight the remaining battles vs. whatever enemy sprites. BP by battle 30 will be 31.

BP does not rise after those 10 battles because of the set of the last four distinct main enemies faced, only 1 is at or above current rank.

Note that this method is obviously more time consuming than doing what I did in the 1:01:47 run and just hoping that a sufficient number of main enemies fought are rank 1 as opposed to rank 2. Ranks of main enemies in most areas can be as much as 2 lower than current battle rank.

Note that this method is generally less useful in full game runs as T260G is not a great first character, and you will then be dealing with BP accumulated from previously completed characters.

I am not particularly thrilled with my performance in this run post-MecGod.
