85Saint Seiya · Knights of the Zodiac: The Golden Legend - Final Chapter” is an English translated version by the group magicteam (Djinn) and aishsha of the 1988 Famicom game "Saint Seiya: Ōgon Densetsu Kanketsu Hen" (Saint Seiya: Golden Legend Conclusion).
A hybrid system
The game can be classified into two genres depending on the moment of gameplay. Initially, it is a side-scrolling action game (with platform elements and a slight beat 'em up concept). In this part of the game, we will face foot soldiers. Here the goal is to advance to the end of the level, but trying to accumulate as many SEVENTH SENSES points as possible by eliminating these foot soldiers (like farming in an action-RPG). These points can be used to fill both the COSMO bar and the LIFE bar when entering the next mode of the game. The COSMO bar will determine the amount of damage to the enemy while the life bar will determine when our player can no longer take action. At the end of the action mode, we enter the RPG mode where we will face a GOLD SAINT on a turn-by-turn basis. If we defeat the GOLD SAINT then we will advance to the next level which will be similar to the action mode but with a higher level of COSMO and LIFE. The process is repeated until reaching the last level.
About which character to choose according to the situation
We can choose between 4 characters. Each one has its pros and cons. But what defines progress is how we solve the situation in RPG mode and if the character is the correct one in that situation.
You should know that we must take into account the way things happen in the original Anime, since to be able to advance from one level to another we must select the appropriate character. Otherwise, you will be stuck without being able to advance.
Knowing how to use the commands correctly in the RPG mode is vital. And knowing how to evade attack in this mode will also make a difference.
