1Saints Row started out as a Grand Theft Auto clone, but by the second game had established itself as a stand alone free roam game with it's own taste. The first free roam series to allow you to play through the entire game with a co-op partner.
The third game in the series, aptly titled "Saints Row the Third" took that uniqueness one step further by going balls to the wall crazy, with weapons like the Penetrator, Apocafists, Shark Cannon, and the ability to change anything about your character on the fly.
