I'm glad Splatoon 3's releasing in September, b/c I've still got some Splatoon 2 animations to take care of, haha. Compared to my previous animation, this one was easier to make in some ways but harder in others. Character animation was easier as I didn't have to try to fit 2D characters into 3D chairs or anything like that ^^; On the other hand, I had to make the set from scratch & got more ambitious w/ the camera movements (1 of my goals this time around was to get better w/ Blender's camera).
I also learned how to make fire, oceans, & other assets through this! I hope it will make future animations a smoother process i.e. next time a scene needs fire or an ocean it'll take significantly less time since I already have these ones on hand (& can tweak them if needed).
That being said, I think my next vid may take a break from all this 2D/3D complexity. Pushing myself to understand how to achieve this look effectively is great, but I fear my brain will catch fire if I don't dial things back for a bit lol
