Salvation Army Today - 5.21.2019 - The Clay Eichler Memorial Fund
The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Texarkana recognized the Clay Eichler Memorial Fund for its contributions to the Club last year and its pledge for the coming year. Since 2013 The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Texarkana has provided an affordable, safe and secure after school program for at-risk children to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Last year, The Clay Eichler Memorial Fund generously donated $155,000 to the Club, which helped transition the Club to a significantly larger location and gave them more room to expand services by offering a sports program and opening the club up to more children than 100 children. This year, The Clay Eichler Memorial Fund has pledged another $150,000 to the Club to help cover the cost of hiring more personnel and other club needs.
The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Texarkana enhances mental, social, emotional, and physical development through programs such as art, STEM, sports, and music. In addition, a spiritual component is presented through daily devotionals, weekly character-building programming, and vacation bible school in the summer.
