Replacement LCD screen for Samsung J8
Precision screwdriver set
Plastic prying tools
Suction cup
Heat gun or hair dryer
Adhesive tape or glue
Anti-static wrist strap (optional)
Small tweezers
Spudger tool
Microfiber cloth
Step-by-Step Guide:
Power Off and Remove SIM/SD Cards:
Turn off your Samsung J8 completely.
Remove the SIM card tray and SD card tray using the ejector tool.
Remove Back Cover:
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive.
Insert a prying tool or guitar pick between the back cover and the frame, gently working around to release the clips.
Disconnect the Battery:
Remove the screws securing the mid-frame and gently pry it off to expose the internals.
Disconnect the battery cable using a spudger tool to avoid short circuits.
Disconnect the Display:
Locate the LCD screen connector on the motherboard.
Use the spudger tool to disconnect the old LCD connector carefully.
Remove the Old LCD:
Heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive holding it in place.
Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic pry tool. Work around the edges to remove the old screen.
Clean the Frame:
Remove any leftover adhesive or debris from the frame using a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
Install the New LCD:
Test the replacement LCD before securing it. Connect the new screen to the motherboard, reattach the battery temporarily, and power on the phone to ensure the display works correctly.
Once confirmed, apply adhesive tape or glue to the frame and carefully place the new LCD into position.
Reconnect Components:
Reconnect the display and other components to the motherboard.
Reattach the battery connector.
Reassemble the Phone:
Reattach the mid-frame and secure it with screws.
Clip the back cover back into place and press firmly to seal.
Power On:
Power on the device to ensure everything is working correctly.
