San Diego 3 Railers 50 car manifest action; July 29th, 2023
8Went down to the San Diego 3-Railers on July 29th, and had a good day operating my now 50 car manifest freight train. This train was supposed to be run with a DPU, 30 cars from the leading engines. But this didn’t happen as I found out at the club that the engine I was going to use as the DPU was causing derailing issues. When accelerating, it would push all the slack of the cars in and derail some part of the train, and moving at a constant speed it would pull on the cars and eventually also derail the train. So the DPU in the 50 car train will have to be done at a different time, the 50 car train has been rearranged again, main changes are all the Autoracks are up front now and the 33K gallon tank cars are with the other tank cars.
