I’m not so sure as there’s no proof of that.
I think it’s perfectly possible that because it was such a huge tragedy, and knowing his nature, he may just have shown himself like that…
He knew that the news stations would be recording, this is spiritual warfare right out in the open…
And whether that face is supernatural or not, it’s still spiritual warfare.
Even if it wasn’t Satan himself, it could have been another evil entity? But I always believed from when I first saw it as a teenager that it was supernatural.
