Satisfactory Update 4 - The Long Wait - Versatile Framework - Let's Play (Streams) - EP12
3This episode contains a lot of .. waiting. Making those Adaptive Control Units and Modular Engines take a lot of time. But I spend the time exploring and also looking at increasing the Fuel Refinery for more Fuel Generators so I can have more available power for the next phase, where I'm going to need to make Aluminum parts, so I can make Blenders for Diluted Fuel and make a true Power Plant!
I also experiment a bit with the Paint Gun and have a look at different colours, and eventually end up with a new colour scheme for the factory that I'm satisfied (enough) with (for now).
When the Adaptive Control Units and Modular Engines we need are done and delivered to the Space Elevator, I tear down the production lines for those. I then look at what I need for the Versatile Framework parts, of which I need a mere 2500. After looking at the maths I decide to (for the first time ever) use one of the alternate recipes for a Space Elevator part - the Flexible Framework recipe. The reason for this is that it halves the requirement for Steel Beams, replacing the Steel Beams you save with Rubber (of which I have plenty unused production).
I set up the production line for the Versatile Framework, before wrapping up the episode, and then the plan is to run the game a bit off camera while the Manufacturer that makes 10 Versatile Framework per minute gets to work on that. 2500 of them means 250 minutes, so that's a bit of a wait.
This series are based on my Twitch streams, where I will upload all the streams as VODs to YouTube as the main series with long episodes. There will be a companion series with shorter episodes for those who only want to see the highlights too. The titles of the series will reflect quickly what I have been doing in the episode, but as shown above, I will also add a more indepth description to each video about what I've been doing, since the title is limited to 100 characters.

What is Satisfactory about?

Satisfactory is an FPS open-world factory building sim. You play as an engineer on an alien planet tasked to complete ‘Project Assembly’ - a massive machine for a mysterious purpose. Conquer nature, build multi-story factories, and automate to satisfaction!
Are there multiple procedurally generated planets?
No, there are no procedurally generated planets. Just one beautifully crafted, hand-made, 100% organic, vegan, GMO-free planet.
Actually, it’s not even a whole planet. It’s just a small bit. But it’s still pretty big, 30km2. That means about 5.4x5.4km.
Is there combat in the game?
Yes.
Is Satisfactory multiplayer?
Yes. We officially support 1-4 players, but we are not limiting it at the moment. This might change but if you want to try more than 4 players then go for it. If it crashes it’s you or Simon’s fault. @SBegby on Twitter.
Will there be mod support?
This is something we have seriously considered but are instead focusing on getting the game finished and running smoothly. Mod support may be added in the future.
