About the Game

Tainted Grail: Conquest is a roguelite videogame with RPG elements, deckbuilding and turnbased combat. It is based on the Dark Arthurian lore of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon a boardgame by Marcin Świerkot and Krzysztof Piskorski.
The main goal in this game is to rebuild your village by gathering resources and finding people in the surrounding wyrd infested areas and convince them to settle in your village. Recruited villagers will offer their services in order to aid you in your quest to defeat the evil forces that keep you a prisoner in this strange world. Villagers can be found through encounters with non-hostile NPCs or locations that you might come across in the wyrdness, and while some might easily be persuaded to settle in your village, others will require you to fulfill several quests in order to gain their trust.
You might die a lot, in the beginning - and later. It’s part of the roguelike experience, so don’t feel bad if you die and have to restart. Remember, not all is lost - essential progress will be saved and accumulated XP will help you unlock new cosmetics and more important: new cards and passives for your class, which will be added to the pool of available cards and passives you may acquire during future runs.
Dare to experiment! Tainted Grail: Conquest offers different playstyles and builds for each class. Try out new stuff! Yes, there is the chance of failure, but you might discover unexpected synergies between cards and passives, that you would have overlooked otherwise. And remember: It’s about the journey!
If you have difficulties or just want a more casual game from time to time, you can always resort to playing a few runs on "Story Mode" or simply try to accumulate some resources to buy permanent upgrades.
