ScaleCast - Shareware & Demos
In this week's podcast, I take a look at the "retro" 90s, the prevalence of Shareware and how it helped amazing games spread.
In a time when there was no 24\7 internet, news and rampant opinional overflow, how people got the word out.
I then look at the modern culture \ state of developer/publisher relationships and lament its state briefly.
The contrast between the older, more trust-based model VS today's modern, misinformation and lack of communication-laden culture gets some examination.
SPECIAL NOTE : Only minutes prior to uploading this, I found out that I can no longer upload to SoundCloud due to free account limitations preventing me from doing so. From now on, YT will be the only place for my content, unfortunately. I mention this because I expected to have the audio on SC earlier but found out I couldn't, so I had to quickly upload this to keep with my 'every friday' schedule. Apologies for it being a bit barren.
