SCARLET NEXUS - Enabling DirectX 12 for Better CPU Performance
Long story short, the game runs on DirectX 11 by default, but unofficially supports DirectX 12. You can enable this by adding -DX12 to the game's launch options, either on Steam or through a shortcut to the game's executable (ScarletNexus.exe).
If your performance is being limited by your CPU (usually indicated by GPU Usage dropping below 90%), this might help you achieve higher framerates. If your GPU is the limiting factor however, this will likely not increase your performance at all. Give a try and see if it helps.
The downside is that the game is presumably creating a shader cache as you play. This means that you might experience stuttering whenever you see an object or effect that the game hasn't shown before. This should be a one time only thing, however, so the more you play, the less it should occur. Older graphics cards might also have worse DirectX 12 support and thus might actually see a significant decrease in performance, so your mileage may vary.
And again, it's NOT officially supported, so if you experience any graphical glitches or unexplained crashes, go back to DirectX 11.
