Testing out my new SCART to HDMI scaler which accepts RGB versus my old SCART to HDMI scaler which was purely Composite.

The difference is absolutely huge on when fullscreen on something like my TV. Composite gets to look a lot better when it is squashed to a smaller screen like this.

One thing that RGB has going for it that makes the Nintendo 64 RGB mode a MUST is that it removes dot-crawl that Composite has. If you look closely at the Composite video you can see the pixels are constantly shifting and moving which creates a very ugly effect.

Here are some fullscreen examples:

RGB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXlMSJSjiHM

This new scaler let's you use SCART AV/SCART RGB cables, lets you switch between 1080p and 720p and finally lets you switch between 50hz/60hz which I have yet to test.

This is a PAL RGB modded Nintendo 64 using an RGB cable running through the scaler in 1080p mode. The older scaler will ignore the RGB in the cable and use the Composite.
It was captured with Elgato Game Capture HD.
