115Syd's Book Shack and Boutique is a nonprofit bookstore in Madison, Connecticut that uses all of its proceeds to buy communication devices called "talkers" to assist nonverbal people in finding their voice. Scholastic Kids' reporter Arjun shares how he discovered Syd's while writing his latest article about independent bookstores, and owners Meredith and Paul share how their nonverbal daughter Syd inspired the nonprofit.
