Science, scale & spaceflight: Ultra-lazy marathon perma-deathworld S2E8
Episode 8 of my second "ultra-lazy marathon perma-deathworld" game: an extra-everything variant on the Lazy Bastard achievement challenge.
Also available as a time lapse of the base: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rq9dJYaick
Challenge rules:
- Mods: None that affect game mechanics (except disabling walking is ok)
- Map settings: Marathon Deathworld preset.
- Permadeath: If you die for any reason, you lose the attempt and need to start over with a new map seed.
- No handcrafting allowed except the bare minimum to get the first assembler. In marathon this is exactly 143 handcrafts.
- No walking/running allowed. Yes, that means you need to spawn directly on top of iron ore.
- No hand-mining ores, coal or stone, except up to 5 iron ore. Chopping trees and hand-mining rocks is ok, but try to keep it minimal (e.g., removing a rock to get unstuck or build in its place is ok, mining it for early resources is not).
- No driving vehicles allowed. Riding trains in auto mode and remote-controlled spidertron are both ok.
- No laser weapons ("Raining bullets" achievement, kind of), because at this point why not.
- No solar power ("Steam all the way" achievement), because at this point why not. Solar panels in power armor are ok.
- No advanced logistics chests ("Logistic network embargo" achievement), because at this point why not. Storage and passive provider chests, including all their features, are ok.
- No other restrictions on combat tactics.
- Launch a rocket (with or without satellite) before you get eaten!
