I’ve wanted to make a video like this for a while, where I just talk about science and my background in science.
This video will have random images of space that I thought were interesting so have included those.

For anyone watching this I’m a recent university graduate, I studied astronomy and geology. I’ll most likely start applying for a place on a research masters course.
There were several areas I found more engaging for me than others, but honestly it was all fascinating.

I was also involved in several research projects, which was what I enjoyed the most – hence the research masters.

The main project I was involved in was a study of a binary star system, that’s a star system that is 2 stars orbiting each other. I was the lead data analyst as I had experience with the software we used from previous projects.

There were a few late nights gathering data from a remote-controlled telescope. We were however plagued with bad weather at the observatory where the telescope was housed, thankfully a fellow student owned a private telescope which they used to gather data, which was then shared.

I was also involved in a solo research project studying the lava composition of Mount Etna, a volcano in Sicily. I sourced images of rock samples from Mount Etna, as well as other projects which studied this volcano. Unfortunately, I haven’t conducted any geological field work (that’s actually going to a location of interest geologically speaking and studying it).

This is more of a general video about myself and my background in science, but if people are interested I could make videos focusing more on a specific thing or area.

Just some examples could be the binary system I studied where I talk about it in more depth, stars in general (that area is called Stellar astronomy), planets or exoplanets, asteroids and comets, galaxies, or the universe (such as the big bang and the expansion of the universe) or anything else really!

Feel free to let me know in the comments.

Thanks for watching this somewhat short introductory video.
