As Scott said "I wanted to finish the series myself... there will hopefully be more FNAF games at some point in the future, but they won’t come directly from me anymore..."

Maybe Scott tries to open a space of the story for whoever takes over FNAF in the future. But IMO, even if FNAF story is ended, there's always have a chance for new FNAF, look at many existing game series, if they want to add another title into the series, they will somehow create a new story.

So at the end, it really depends on Scott or other developer who handle FNAF (if any) whether they want to continue to make this series or not.

Imagine if a big publisher like Capcom takes over FNAF (just saying, don't take this seriously lol).
