Scrabdackle Demo Playthrough - Explore and Wield Magic in this Goofy Zelda-ish Game!
17Playing through the demo for Scrabdackle, a 2-D action-adventure game very much in the spirit of The Legend of Zelda but with more goofy humor. After being roughed up by an evil wizard (or possibly just another wizard you owe money to) you land outside your wizard academy and explore the surrounding environs, from the beautiful junk heaps to the nearby menacing ruins. You may also rough up a not-potato boss.
The demo itself is quite short if you seek to merely defeat the only available boss. There are a number of secret stars (which do nothing in the demo), a brief minigame, and some vendors to fool with. Plus scrying adds more to your book about the world. So I looked for all the stars, found the vendors, and tried to add as much to the book as possible.
Skrine's boons seem to have these drawbacks: Less control of your character, all magic bits are dropped (and disappear quickly if not picked up), and eventually two Grinbles show up. They don't seem quite worth it for these drawbacks currently.
