In this video, which isn't really about Scrap Mechanic, I ask for your advice. Entire text here:

Hi Everybody. Today I’m asking for your advice. When I first started this channel, I wanted to teach kids about creativity and life, and inspire kids to make stuff, and to do that in a fun and engaging way. I think I’ve done that with some of my Scrap Mechanic videos. But I thought Scrap Mechanic would just be one venue, and that I’d also have real-world building with hot glue guns, and batteries, and wood. Maybe use Makey-Makey and Raspberry Pi. I planned to visit makerspaces, robot labs, factories, and I thought I’d have guests on who are makers, artists, and experts in creativity. None of that has happened yet.

What has happened is I’ve started doing a bunch of videos for an adult audience, using the Scrap Mechanic logic gates and showing how to do some hacks, like my How to Make a Sign in Scrap Mechanic video. So now I seem to have two audiences – kids and young adults, and I’m getting kind of confused about what I should focus on. I’ve also had some videos where I don’t teach lessons, but I’m just doing entertainment. And then there’s a question of whether I should do other video games, and if so which ones? Whatever I do it’s got to be more than just playing a game. It’s got to be sandbox with room for me to express creativity and say something meaningful.

So my first question is, should I split my channel into two channels – one for kids and one for adults? And what do you think of all the other things I just talked about. Is any of that stuff you’d like to see? What do you most like about my channel? What would you like to see more of? Are there things you’d like to see me do that I haven’t thought of yet?

And if you’re a Youtuber, do you have any advice on growing my channel? I’ve thought about doing some collaborations, but I’m not sure how to go about that. I’ve never done one before, and I’m not great at making interesting conversation while I’m building stuff. I do a ton of editing for my videos. Let me know if you have ideas about growth and collabs.

Ok, I think that’s it for now. I’m going to put this entire text in the description. I know this has been a lot of stuff to plunk down on you, but I’d appreciate whatever you want to share with me. You can leave a comment, or you can message me privately if you need to. Thanks a bunch in advance, and I’ll see you next time.
