Scraper: First Strike | PS VR BETA Gameplay
In SCRAPER: First Strike, the player takes on the role of Casey Maxwell, a Modified Hover Pod pilot, and a member of the Human Resistance Force (HRF). Your mission is to help the HRF reclaim Reactor Building 3 from enemy Humech robots, restore power to a secret military base, and drive back the robots that have seized New Austin. You’ll explore the world with full-locomotion controls, and will be able to modify your weapons, engineer new parts for your MHP (Modified Hover Pod), and barter for consumables that will help you on your journey. If you have what it takes to carry out dangerous missions, and infiltrate highly secure levels, sign up now at ScraperNetwork.com with the HRF and help defeat the Humechs!
Large RPG Shooter Experience: Game features fully voiced actors, detailed and dynamic mission system, full locomotion and an open world to explore.
Game Mechanics & System: Scraper will launch with the beginning phases of a robust RPG experience. In later episodes, these features will be continually enhanced.
VR Specific: For Episode I, we have built-in customizable VR comfort enhancements. These include adjusting vignetting for shutter speed and scale, along with being able to find your perfect rotation and travel speed. In addition, we’ve added snap turning and the user can set the optimal angle for their playstyle. Lighting intensity, color schemes and adjusting the height of your MHP dashboard are also included to maximize player enjoyment.
Interactive VR Experience: Players will be able to touch and interact with certain parts of the world. From controlling your MHP and weapons to interacting with NPCs, terminals and other forms of communication, you’ll feel fully immersed in SCRAPER.
Console & PC: For the full game release on console and PC in 2020, the player can expect advanced graphics, effects, lighting, level design and next gen features versus what will be available in the initial VR version.
POD Plugin Feature: In Scraper, when the player is not traveling on foot, they will be traveling in their MHP (Modified Hover Pod). The MHP serves as the player’s mobile command center. The POD can plugin into multiple forms of travel, offensive and defensive machinery, along with mission or world specific devices.
In future episodes, imagine being at ground level and about to be overwhelmed by hordes of Humechs. The player can plug into a Battle Tank and control it via the MHP’s console, blasting away at Humech forces. Or, if the city is being attacked by Humech Stinger ships, the player can plug into a fighter ship, fly around and decimate Humech aerial units. During missions, the player will need to plug into devices like a lifter, that will be used to grind up materials, move and replace objects, and be essential to complete core game play objectives.
Although the MHP can be upgraded, modified and customized for most combat needs, other forms of travel are coming, like a fully operational Mech Suit that the player will plug into, and which can also be customized with specific armor, shields, systems, and weapons.
Trading System: Enemies, containers, and bosses will drop loot of all sorts that will allow players to build and upgrade their weapons and vehicles. With a robust trading system, the player will be able to buy consumable augmentations, equipment modifications, and acquire missing schematic ingredients to customize their journey according to their playstyle. Avid explorers will be rewarded with additional loot drops and rare items.
Schematics: A dream MHP isn’t realized overnight. Players will need to dedicate time to finding schematics and parts during their journey. Only then will they be able to construct their perfect MHP with the Engineering System.
Engineering System: Players can build equipment, upgraded parts for their Modified Hover Pod and new weapon systems from the scraps and materials found while completing missions.
Scavenging: The player can hunt down items and farm bots for specific parts to make sure they have the necessary components to assemble the schematics they have looted or downloaded.
Ranking Up: In future episodes, Scraper will include the ability to rank up your character. You start out as a Lieutenant in the HRF. During the course of game play, you’ll be able to rank up based on your accomplishments and contributions to the HRF.
Maintenance and Repair: Your POD will need to be taken care of and will certainly take damage during your dangerous travels. The game features Maintenance Pads where you can restock your ammo, repair your POD hull, and recharge your POD’s power core.
