This is a world where large corporations have the world's resources and economy in their hands, and even countries and governments are controlled by corporate profits (money). The Earth is completely separated into the "upper class" of about 1% of the population and the "slaves" of 99%. Naturally, the majority of humanity does not accept this situation and has begun to rebel against the rulers. People (players) who fought for justice and order were called criminals and terrorists and transferred to private prisons and correctional facilities owned by corporations. In order to maintain their control, the upper class began Project Island (sending prisoners to a prison island) at the global broadcasting company TEC1 as a measure to suppress rebellions. Their lives are broadcast on TV all over the world as a TV show called "The Island", and the upper class enjoys watching it. (The player is filmed by a drone camera that occasionally flies over.) In the first 24 hours, most of the prisoners die, and the player must survive by escaping from difficult situations and winning the killing spree. The ultimate goal is to escape the island. This is a game where you can experience this.
