4The final event is here. It's a remaster of my most popular video, which was called 'Dino Demolition Derby' As of today, it's the only video on my channel with over 10,000 views. For me, it's a rare thing... I'm lucky to have a video that's over 1000 views. Goes to show how little known I am.
I look back on my 10 years and think that I would of given up some time in the past... but I didn't. Why? Because I see this channel as a showcase of my favorite hobby, which is video games. I don't see this as a huge money making enterprise, I see this as a way to show what I love to do and a way to earn respect from the community.
I have many, many ideas based on different shows that I've seen on YouTube and I would love to follow on these ideas, but I don't have the money or the technical skills to pull these off. Someone would say "why not do a Patreon or a GoFundMe page?"
Well... to me, that feels like panhandling. I want to be able to afford to do these ideas on my own. But, I wouldn't be against it if I had people pitch in to help me. I want to make this channel the best it can be, and by expanding my horizons... that could happen.
To the people who have been there since the beginning, I thank you. Of the currently 128 subscribers that I have, nearly 100 of them have been there for at least 5 years. It means I'm doing something right when that is the case. I also thank the other people who haven't been there as long, but still enjoy my videos.
One day, I will have my moment. Until then... I'll enjoy this little slice of the Internet pie as my own.
