A 1-credit clear of the arcade game Search and Rescue [searchar] played with WolfMAME 0.257. Score: 449,230. A run-and-gun with a rotary joystick to aim. You roam around a crashed ship full of zombies and GUTS levels and aliens clearly inspired by Giger. You have your choice of three shot types - the big fire is my weapon of choice because its charge shot summons a shield that protects you from several hits (or many seconds) before dissipating. Use the shield, go slowly, and learn boss patterns, and it's not that hard. US romset [searcharu] is much harder (the elevator spawns are rude). Speedrun strats are possible - if you're being chased by a pack of zombies, then fewer monsters spawn ahead of you - but I opted for the "slow-and-steady" route. You don't end up rescuing anyone - kind of a downer given the title!
