And so Nina and David arrived at Gatineau! Now it’s time to start looking for a saint from Sister Elise’s letter. But it looks like there’s nothing, but ruins around… Oh well, just our luck.

TECHNICAL NOTES:

Welcome to the most buggy part of the game! Wii and DS users got an updated version of the game, without such problems, while Windows users should suffer. Well, as usual. There are two HUGE problems here. And one of them can make you stuck forever. Just remember - DO NOT use a pocket knife on re-baked fortune cookies! It’ll cause message inside to disappear completely and you won’t be able to get them back. It’s OK to destroy three, but one exact message is needed to progress in the game (the one with “If you ignore the warning and disregard your neighbor's misfortune, disaster will strike you also.” text). Therefore, if you’ll re-bake a cookie with that message and try to open it with a knife - you’ll stuck. Forever. In this case, your only solution is to load an old save. And if there’s NO old save… Well, like Link from an old Zelda cartoon said “Excu-u-u-u-u-use ME, Princess!”.

Second problem can be solved easily, but it can be a huge pain in the neck if you’re playing the game fairly, without a walkthrough. The problem is - even though the game supports Full HD and can be finished without any problems in 1920x1080, in this exact part it’s impossible to progress in 16:9 resolution. The reason is - in 16:9 the game cuts off a little part from the top and bottom parts of the screen. And we will need an object from the very bottom in this part. There was a similar situation in a Sam’s garden in Indonesia, but since it was visible a little, there was no big problem. On the other hand, in this part you simply can’t find the object you need (a paper cup), even if you know where it is. Solution - save, change resolution, take a cup, save, change resolution back, continue. Simple like that. And I really wonder why none tested 16:9 mode properly. Anyway, since we’re talking about the video playthrough here, it’s much bigger problem. I’ve recorded the whole playthrough in Full HD (widescreen), so, it’ll be strange to make only one part in 4:3.

So, in the end, I decided to make this part more informative and make some sort of guide about how to avoid bugs. I’ll destroy one cookie with a knife to show you how it is AND I’ll change resolution only for a short period of time (I’ll leave the black borders just to show you that it’s different resolution, stretching it to fit the screen will look strange).

That’s it. The part full of bugs. And, yet again, all this is Windows-only, Wii and DS owners shouldn’t bother (Thanks God the first two times I've played this game it was on Wii and DS!).
