Player interests are shifting as we got inundated by live service micro-transaction filled casino's right after massive bloated open worlds with little substance. (Looking at you Ubisoft!) But What game is left when both single player narrative games and 30+ hour games are not what players want or what sells according to Will Shen, former BGS dev and 11bit Studios (frostpunk 2).
Meta is floundering money into VR and AR and not seeing the returns - so what does that say to developers who might be interested in VR experiences?
