YOOOOO GUESS WHOS BACKKKK!!!! (after 4 months…. 💀 )

I’ll tell you guys where I’ve been…. BUT FIRST! Let’s talk about the music 😈

So, this track, Secret of the Forest from Chrono Trigger, is a beautiful piece. Yasunori Mitsuda did an incredible job on the composition. It made remixing it SO much fun. I wanted to go for a more “new age” style for this remix, including some vintage samples and sounds, using old reverb techniques and what not. I feel like this remix is very out of the ordinary for me, not just cuz it’s in a style I’ve never attempted before this, but also because I uh… still haven’t played Chrono Trigger 😅 I JUST REALLY LIKE THE SOUNDTRACK OKAY?!?!?!! Anyways, I got carried away in some parts of the remix and almost went for a contemporary jazz style? Like, I wanted to feel as if I was in an underground dive bar with slow jazz music playing in the background as I sit back and relax in a red suede cushioned chair HAHAH. But then at other points I wanted to feel like I was wandering through a forest filled with fog and slight rain, while my shoes get muddy, frogs jump around, and light barely shines through the dense clouds above. THATS what I really wanted to evoke with this track, so much so that I detailed the thumbnail art around that perspective… SPEAKING OF THUMBNAIL ART….

I can finally talk about why I’ve been gone for so long…. The art. I had fallen out of it for a bit. Just had absolutely ZERO motivation to draw. I realized this kind of late and decided to try and ease myself into it so that I don’t get burnt out. I started off drawing some small pokemon drawings, I would take my notebook around with me and whenever I got the chance to draw, I’d just go ahead and doodle something small. This eventually lead to me attempting the thumbnail for this video. I’m not really keen to drawing humans so it was tough at first. Thankfully Goku looks just like Crono so I just used Goku’s face and body as reference HAHA. Drawing the trees and atmosphere was so fun. I’ve never been a huge fan of drawing nature settings but this time something just flowed within me and I was able to get it done pretty easily.

I’ve also been gone for so long because of a new job that I’ve got. It’s taken me some time to figure out how to balance my lifestyle with this job. And I think I’ve finally found a routine that works for me 😎 so I can only hope that this means I’ll be able to make some more videos for you all to enjoy!
