I used Chat GPT and my own experiences to discover what youtube algorithm likes.
I have used this video to further my research about what algorithm likes by using my viewers as test subjects.

These are the time tested tips used by youtubers to increase channel viewership and subscriber growth.

1. Upload consistency.
a The algorithm likes when people upload consistently.
b. Upload for a minimum of once in two weeks.
c. At maximum go for about 2-3 videos per week. You can go for more if you can keep your video quality high.

2. Optimize your video’s metadata. Metadeta include your video’s
a. Title - Give a relevant title which explains viewers about what is happening in the video.
b. Description - Give a relevant description. [It’s a topic in my research so won’t elaborate further here yet]
c. Thumbnail - Give a relevant thumbnail, avoid clickbaits as they tend to reduce watch time.

3. Keywords
a. Keywords helps Algorithm find out relevant videos for a user’s query. So,
b. Put relevant keywords in the video description.
c. Don’t abuse the keywords system by adding irrelevant keywords. [Keywords stuffing]
d. Don’t abuse the tag system either [Available in youtube studio, under advance settings for a particular video]
e. Abusing the system will result in algorithm not pushing your videos.

4. Avoid ClickBaits
a. As they decrease watch time, since viewers leave the video in a short while.
b. Algorithm factors in both views and watch time to push videos.
c. Having less of one will result in algorithm not favouring your videos.

5. Content Quality
a. Keep your content quality high. Quality beats quantity.
b. Lower Quality content means lower viewer engagement and user retention.
c. Use fresh ideas, don’t try to compete with youtubers who are bigger than you without your unique factor.
d. YouTube Analytics also help you figure out what’s working for you and what’s not.
e. Video length should not generally extended 15 minutes, but that depends upon the type of content you make.
f. In the end, It’s about the viewer, and YouTube pays no particular attention to the content.

6. Create a Feedback loop
a. By Creating a series playlist. This ensures YouTube recommends next video on your playlist.
[ Can be created from desktop website in playlist settings ]
b. By end screen cards [But they don’t work on mobiles]
c. By making a viewer watch more of your videos, algorithm will suggest more of your videos to the viewer.

7. Promote your videos on social media
a. Like a particular subreddit suited for your content.
b. Youtube’s paid promotion, if you have the money.
c. You may also change the video recorded location, so that your video is shown to people from
that country too.

8. Your Health
a. Surround yourself with positive people who encourage you when you initially don’t get success.
b. Enjoy the videos you make, so, you don’t suffer from creative burnout.

9. Engagement
a. A viewer is engaged when they like the video, leave a comment or subscribe to your channel.
User retention [ Watch time ] also comes in it.
b. More engagement means, algorithm will push your videos up in search results.
c. To increase engagement, make a call to action.
d. Ask viewers to comment, like and subscribe, but don’t beg them for it.
