[May 22 2012] I'm going to explain the wasteland 'hidden room' easter egg -hoax-, as now I think there needs to be an update.
Originally it was found at this site: http://www.eeggs.com/tree/11273.html
As you can see, it has been removed; moderated sort of. I wonder why?
Using a web archive site, you can find the -original- source:

Right from the start, this -should- seem like a hoax. Back in 2008 I was like: "duh, I'm going to add it to the video anyway. Even after I searched for hours, using the infinite light jak flight glitch, flying through the mountains -- finding nothing at all." (they aren't solid, hmm) You shouldn't present stuff that you can't confirm.
"This is a real egg because it is verified by the developers: Naughty Dog. Good luck!"
You can't believe everything on the internet.

An easter egg is a secret, reference, and/or object hidden in a game, which is usually intentionally put in a game by the developers.
It can usually be a trademark by the certain developer (such as former Insomniac Games Employee Dan Johnson) or something meant to be found.
