Section 8: cash instead of vouchers, the new program shift which may potentially be implemented with the changing housing landscape and program. The section 8 program otherwise known as housing choice voucher program which has been around for many years which allows low income individuals and families to get a voucher which allows them to obtain housing from private landlords. However, studies have been conducted finding that offering recipients of section 8 or housing choice vouchers cash payments instead of a voucher is significantly more effective and allows these individuals to obtain housing more quickly and ethically.
