Way back in 2001 a Total Conversion (modification) of Carmageddon II was released by Paul "Freddy" Glover. Original Carmageddon II cars are replaced by banger cars. Power-ups, APO upgrades and ped's are taken out of the game and tracks are replaced by oval-arena's. You can consider this a completely different game that runs on the Carmageddon II engine. Most of the tracks and cars in this TC are taken from the Carmageddon II modding community, where Freddy made a neat compilation of it all. Some (or most) of the banger cars and drivers are based on actual excisting banger drivers/cars from the late 90's early 2000's - some of them are even Dutch. I tried googling them and found some interesting reading about some of the drivers and found actual photo's of some of the cars! Great stuff. Even the oval-tracks are based on excisting locations.

Ofcourse it's no competition with the original Carmageddon II, yet S.o.D. still offers a nice racing experience. I remember that I played this mod somewhere in the mid-2000's - not that much, but I do remember enjoying it. Therefore I tought it deserved to be on my Youtube channel. The game isn't hosted anywhere online anymore, but you can always send a message to the creator of this TC (check out the website).

It's not easy to get running on a modern computer, though there's a great workaround that I found out. If you want to know how to get this game running then send me a message on Discord or ask around in the #help channel.

Music: There's only one audio track in this version of the game and since this is a mod I decided to out in some music from different games in the edit. You can hear music from Destruction Derby 1 & 2, Need For Speed 1 & 2, Even More: The Incredible Machine Contraptions, Forza 7 and the Youtube audio library.

Ps. try launching an enemy off the map and the game crashes.
