Corsair showcased a "sneaky" transparent prototype of its new HX1000i Shift PSU at Computex 2025. This see-through power supply, though just a concept, was subtly displayed within a crowded PC case, highlighting its unique design. The author expresses appreciation for Corsair's bold and understated presentation of such an unconventional component.

The transparent prototype also served to indirectly promote Corsair's new HXi Shift PSU models (1000W, 1200W, 1500W). These production models are Platinum Cybenetics certified, fully modular, feature a 140mm fan, and come with a 10-year warranty. The "Shift" designation means their power connectors are located on the side, designed for easier cable management in compatible cases.

A notable new feature in these HXi PSUs is an integrated iCUE Link System Hub, which supports up to 24 iCUE Link devices like fans or RGB lighting. This integration aims to reduce cable clutter and free up precious PCIe power connectors that would typically be used for a separate hub.

Finally, the transparent prototype was demonstrated in conjunction with a PowerBoard by Singularity Computers. This motherboard tray acts as an intermediary PCB, further reducing cable clutter by allowing for shorter cable runs to and from the PSU, contributing to a neater PC build.
