Sega Genesis Star Control G6, 1P Melee gameplay, Hierarchy vs AI Alliance fleet engagement!
The release of Star Control: Origins put me mood for some Star Control retro gaming on the Sega Genesis. I switched from Practice to Melee. Difficulty: Awesome. Vid timeline:

- Analysis: A heavily armored ship that's also very fast and maneuverable. But as a result, suffers in the firepower department. Captains much exercise patience along with some skillful flying maneuvers, particularly when facing ships that also have heavy armor.

- Tactical ability: In the Full Game mode, Podships don't need to replenish lost crew members at a Colony after a fight.
- Aditional features: none.
- Notes: Plasmoid shot gradually de-coalesces, losing power. Can regenerate 4 crew members at a time.
- Analysis: As a ranged combatant, captains should exercise patience plus, skillful management between weapon and regeneration usage. Needs to avoid close range entanglements whenever possible. Due to a slow shot to target closure, Podships stand at the highest risk of "eating" their own shots, either by traveling too fast forward or by a clever speedy opponent. Podships therefore often use their weapons while traveling in reverse.
