Sega Race TV - Audio Fixed, Boost & 4th Stage Working (TeknoParrot 1.0.0.275)
A bit more Sega Race TV being played using Teknoparrot, now with (99%) working audio, working boost and the 4th Stage, Rumbling Volcano, also now working (the 5th still makes the game crash though).
So, it turns out there was an issue with the Opensegaapi.dll which has been fixed by a TeknoParrot contributor called Harm, with a new version of it I downloaded and added to my TP folder to replace the old one. Audio is now working, although it's still not 100% perfect as I still got the odd time when the announcers voice went a bit crackly at times and the between stage music got distorted.
The 4th stage now working was an unexpected bonus. On my initial playthrough the boost button was still making the game crash. Despite this though, when I fired the game up again, I actually manged to win the championship and then the game crashed just after it said I'd got a new car (I'm going to upload that no-boost game as well at some point).
I tried the game again after this to see if the 5th track worked, which it didn't and made the game crash. I fired it up again to see if the 4th stage working was just a fluke or if it would work again, which it did, so with it working I thought I'd just have another try with the boost button and all, whaddaya know, it worked properly and didn't make the game crash. When I finished the Championship (It took me 2 goes on the 2nd and 3rd stages - I've edited the 1st goes on both of those out - also in my first go, when I suddenly realised the boost was working, I hadn't actually been playing the game properly, so I let the time run out so I could start again) the game crashed in the exact same place, right at the point I got told I've got a new car.
Playing the game properly with the boost button working it really does feel like a whole new kettle of fish and adds a bit of much needed urgency into the game. II think the CPU cars are incredibly rubber bandy though, as I was managing to finish in similar positions in the games where I wasn't boosting.
I like the US Punk songs in this. I've no idea who the bands are, but they remind me a lot of stuff like Pennywise and Guttermouth.
