Sega Rally was once the premier rally game but when arcade racing games fell out of favour, Sega Rally’s popularity faded. Even a AAA attempt to reboot the franchise in 2007 failed to make any kind of splash and apart from its arcade sister, Sega Rally 3 and a digital download-only hybrid, we haven’t seen anything from the series since.

Sega Rally Revo isn't the best game in the series but it's still a great game. If you liked the earlier games and never played it, and statistically you probably didn't, definitely check it out. And if you're still holding out for a sequel, all hope is not lost. There's a fan project in the works. Over Jump rally looks to pick up where Sega left off and if things go to plan maybe, just maybe we’ll get a new official game at some point too. Let’s not count our chickens yet though. First, let me tell you about Sega's last proper attempt at the rally series and one of the finest underrated 7th gen games.
