Seijin Plays VVVVVV Part 1 : Space Station & The Tower
VVVVVV is a platformer game for the PC, developed by Terry Cavanagh. Pretty much the entire game is a one-man accomplishment, with the wonderful music composed by Magnus Palsson. You can buy VVVVVV for five dollars on Steam, or play the demo version for free on Kongregate (at least, that's what I've heard).
The story follows Captain Viridian and his crew as they stumble upon dimensional interference, and escape their ship through the teleporter. However, the teleporter sends all crew members in different directions, and it's up to Viridian to save them all. After the first "level", the world is free to explore, and you can save the crew members in any order.
Captain Viridian is not like most "heroes". He can't shoot guns, he has no extravagant super powers. He can jump, but not like most : when he jumps, he lands on the ceiling, and walks normally on that ceiling. This is an unusual platforming game in that the challenge is (almost) entirely in the platforming execution.
This is merely my third playthrough of the game, so I still die a ton of times, but I will also obtain all twenty trinkets. I would say at least one third, if not up to one half of all my deaths were me trying to obtain the "Veni Vidi Vici" and "Edge Games" trinkets.
Please support indie game developers and buy the game on Steam~
P.S. : The sound is slightly delayed. Sorry about that.
