Before throwing myself into this battle, I took some time to recruit new generic characters at the soldier office.

The Man : male, 70 brave, 56 faith. In the long term, I'll mostly use him in heavy armored and powerful classes such as lancer, or monk with Equip Armor. He will most likely never touch the magic-based classes except to learn abilities such as Defense Up and the like. His faith is rather high (considering he'll never be a mage) so that my interparty buffs or heals aren't useless.

Sara : female, 69 brave, 63 faith. My main spellcaster, she will mostly go between the priest, wizard, oracle and time mage classes. Since she has good compatibility with most of my other characters (if not all, I forgot), her faith doesn't need to be a perfect 70 to perform well, which should spare her a bit when receiving magical damage. She is named after my real life girlfriend.

Dead Fish, 69 brave, 51 faith. He is the odd one, I still am not sure exactly where to go with him, other than he'll be using physical classes. Maybe he'll be a thief or ninja. His low faith is explained by the same reason as The Man.

Seijin, 69 brave, 61 faith. She is named after myself. She shall be proficient at everything. I intend to give her a physical class when needed, and a magical class when needed. Therefore, she will be going through a lot of class changes. Perhaps my main focus, otherwise, is for her to become a samurai later on.

As for the battle, I obviously decided not to save Algus when given the choice, because that gives a boost of 10 brave for the battle, 2 points becoming permanent until the end of the chapter.

Remembering past nightmares involving the enemy squires having Monster Skill and the panther using Seal on me, I made sure to check which squires had Monster Skill. Turns out none of them had it. The thief was rather dangerous in this battle because in this patch, thieves have inner Concentrate. So, they never miss when attacking (well, except if attacking someone with Blade Grasp (ghosts) or attacking someone with Arrow Guard with a crossbow).

At one point, Delita attacked the panther, and it countered. I thought the entire panther family had Speed Save for reaction ability in 1.3034, so I checked its description, and it is indeed described as having Speed Save for reaction ability. I am guessing that either some issue came up when Philsov made the easytype version, or it's a simple mistake or misunderstanding. On a sidenote, panthers now have Ignore Height, enabling them to jump any height, and Poison Nail is a 3-panel ranged attack which has a high change of poisoning the enemy. Note that the poison status lasts longer in FFT 1.3, making it more dangerous than in the original game.

The battle was not too hard or anything. At the end, I let all the enemies, except for one, turn into crystals/boxes to plunder their abilities. That added a few boring minutes to the video.

If you have comments, don't hesitate. More information about my playthrough or the patch can be found in the description of my first video of this playthrough.
