A couple poison procs speed up this fight significantly. It takes 2 full combos (6 emblems each), but often some of the hits will miss. This is fine, though, as you have 4 extra emblems to work with. I like to start the first combo with 10-11 worth of stagger, so the last hit (or second to last if you had 11 hits) will stagger, giving you plenty of time to get off another full combo. I also discovered that poison built up during one phase will carry over into the next, so you can get the deathblow to show up, do a full combo, perform the deathblow, then do another combo second phase to proc (you generally need to do a couple more hits after, since the poison meter seems to deplete a bit during the deathblow).
