Sentinels of the Multiverse (TTS) - Grue Meta Mind Preview at Freedom Tower
Here is something I've wanted to do for a little while now and with the first villain of Sentinels of Earth Prime making its debut, three members of the Cauldron join up with F5 Absolute Zero and Stuntman to bring it down.
So there are 3 heroes here who are going to be alien to most of you. First is Pyre, who has a radiation mechanic that can speed up play and cause a lot of damage. He fails to execute things properly, so we have to quickly cool down before he nukes everything.
Next up is me playing the Stranger. Due to a lucky draw, I materialize most of my Glyphs, which allows me to safely play my Runes. I power up Stuntman and Tango One, and nuke Grue hard when it flips, but sadly, I didn't have enough out there to really take him to the cleaners. I could have hit him harder, but if you notice from my silence, there was so much crap going on in the background here that I simply couldn't play at all at that point, let alone efficiently.
As for Tango One, this is a hero who needs some help manipulating the top card to maximize her damage. You get to see a few things here, but being the lowest HP here, she gets quickly pummeled and can't really recover.
F5 AZ, Stuntman, and Freedom Tower are all familiar faces. We had horrible luck with Freedom Tower, which is one of the reasons why I do not like that environment, but it was the one they wanted to play.
As for Grue, he is a minion-mancer type, which will summon a lot of guys on his starting side to do his bidding (up to 4 per turn...). When flipped, he goes like Bomber Blade mixing with Matriarch, and there wasn't much we could do at that point. The villain is supposed to be just a difficulty 2, but taking Matriarch's most dangerous trait should make it closer to difficulty 4 tbh. Now, not everything about this villain is set in stone, such as that fact that only the art for the character card has been revealed, so it is possible this mechanic or some of the numbers may get tweaked in time.
Now, I did want to play more games, but due to the nonstop interference in the background, I couldn't. This is one of the things that frustrates me about live streaming in general, and luckily I was not. I'm hoping this changes in the near future, but just keep in mind that months of this headache, it has not been relieved in the slightest degree.
