Sentinels of the Multiverse - Ultimate Gloomweaver at the Realm of Discord
Ultimate Gloomweaver is not nearly as bad as some of the others out there, and hopefully you can see it here. Yes, he is immune to Legacy's melee and Expatriette's guns (generally), but Nightmist can almost solo the poor guy, so there is that.
For Nightmist, once you have the Amulet out, you can work him over hard. Self damage bounced off of the Amulet will give the nemesis bonus, can be amplified by Elder Ring and environmental effects, as well as Inspiring Presence. Basically, it can be easy to deal 10+ per round with just Nightmist once you have the Amulet out. And Master of Magic will keep you topped off, making this somewhat one-sided.
As for Legacy, I brought her as a failsafe should one of the relics get out. You can use Lead from the Front with Next Evo to nullify Infernal damage and then Gloomweaver can barely hurt you. Until then, set up with Fortitude, Inspiring Presence, and poke him a bit with Atomic Glare and you can shave a round off of the whole fight.
As for Visionary, she is here for Twist the Ether (doesn't get used) and to help manage Gloomweaver's deck. She deals some chip damage here and there with Demoralization, which does help clear out the things summoned to help Gloomweaver.
Expatriette is here so she can kill any zombies that hit the field. Hairtrigger Reflexes with Exploit Vulnerability is a death sentence on them. From there, I can use Incendiary and Nitro Rounds to still hit him as those change her damage type from projectile to fire or ice. Twist the Ether would also allow Expatriette to attack him at any time.
As for Parse, she is here for Exploit Vulnerability, and to destroy the relics before they enter play. In Fugue State, her ability helps some of the others set up, and I think the extra card play (even if it is somewhat random) is better than just the 2 damage her base power does.
So this is a prelude to when I finally get around to doing Ultimate Spiteweaver, and I think after that, I will probably stop bothering with the ultimate challenges. A lot of them like Kaargra are just stupid and more a time sink rather than something that can be reliably beaten. I hope when the team villains get their challenge modes, they are a little more thought out than how lazy some of the others are.
