22 year old Russian driver Sergey Sirotkin who has won three GP2 races and is the current Renault F1 test driver is the current lead candidate for the final available F1 racing seat for 2018, the Williams drive to partner Lance Stroll.

Due to Williams having lead sponsor, Martini requiring at least one of the two drivers to be over 25 this could be an issues as Sirotkin is only 22. Although with the US having the world's oldest minimum drinking age at 21 it is possible for Martini to lower that so Sirotkin becomes a driver for Williams. This also means that F1 and Rally veteran Robert Kubica now seems unlikely to partner Stroll for 2018 now that the Sirotkin is favouite at this present moment.
