For Christmas this year, Santa brought me a Kleer and a Gnaar... and it was exactly what I needed.

So, Croteam decided to follow up their Halloween update with an actual Christmas update. It adds in the same items the Halloween update brought in (except with different models), and does something a bit extra. Originally, around Christmas time, there was a tree in the first level that you can stick certain melee trophies to for an achievement. With this update, this tree (while remodeled) exists in all of the levels (one per), and decorating each one snags you an achievement which unlocks a player model. To decorate them, you have to stick a gnaar eye, rocketeer heart, and kleer skull to each one.

... But here's where there was a problem; not all of the levels had the required enemies to decorate the tree. Specifically level 2 (this level), which had exactly 1 of the 3 (and it was in the underground segment). Croteam rectified this by adding "trap" presents to each of the levels that spawn in the required enemies.

Now, for the speedrun, I had been looking at this level to see if it could be done faster. Using the "speedrun" secret is kinda meh, as you have to go out of your way to hit the switch for it. When I found the melee clip glitch, I tried applying it to this level, but the enemies available in the level didn't allow for it to work... until now. You see the results in the video.

Of course, since this is an event-only update (currently in public beta), I'm not sure how "valid" this would be for an actual speedrun. It's "technically" part of the vanilla game, but it's a limited time only thing. For that reason, I've marked it as "Christmas Mode" in the title, as to make it its own category.

Oh yeah, and currently, in this state, this is the only level you can complete in under a minute. Also, this cuts the regular version's (single-segment) record time of 1:36 exactly in half.
