SETI - How to play - TUTORIAL - Board Game - unna
Look closely at a random patch of sky and you'll find a million galaxies, each containing billions of stars. Stars can have planets; planets can have life; life can become intelligent. And that means that wherever you point your telescope, you could be looking at someone who is looking back at you.
SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is a game of exploration and, ultimately, discovery. You know there's extraterrestrial life out there. You just have to find it. Using limited resources wisely, you'll launch probes, explore planets, listen to the stars, and push science forward. Each player controls a space exploration agency, drawing on real-world technologies and techniques to unravel some of humanity's greatest mysteries.
Created by Tomáš Holek (Tea Garden, Galileo Galilei), SETI is an expert-level eurogame that can be enjoyed alone or in groups of up to 4 players, ages 14 and up. Over the course of 5 rounds, players will try to accumulate the most victory points by performing certain actions and fulfilling objectives, as well as interacting with discovered alien life.
On each turn, players will carry out a main action and as many free actions as they wish. Main actions include launching probes, orbiting a planet, landing on a planet or moon, tracking nearby stars, analyzing data, or researching technology. At certain points in the game, the solar system will rotate, affecting the position of the probes or the tracking action.
One of the most special aspects of SETI is that halfway through the game, up to two forms of alien life are revealed, which add new rules and ways to score points to the game. There are multiple alien species in the box, so each game is a mystery as to what players will discover. Ideal for lovers of space themes, SETI is a must-have in the game libraries of the most demanding gamers. Are you ready to discover what lies beyond the stars?
