Setting up SlimeVR Tracker Wifi credentials without a PC
2This is a often asked question in SlimeVR Discord:
"Can I configure SlimeVR trackers without a PC?"
The answer so far has been: "No, you need a PC at least to set the WiFi credentials"
Since this is the one thing stopping SlimeVR trackers from being used fully without a PC I tried looking into it and found this method that can be used to set the WiFi SSID and password on the trackers using an Android phone that supports USB OTG and a USB OTG hub or adapter.
The app used is called Serial USB Terminal. There are other apps with USB serial support. This one in particular supports the CH34x driver which is what SlimeVR trackers use.
NOTE: Quest 2 headset does support USB OTG. But this method has not been tested with it. If anyone tries it and it works, let me know in the comments
