The Behringer C-1U is a very good budget cardioid condenser microphone.
I plug the microphone into a USB3 port, and not a USB2 port. You are likely to have issues if you use a USB2 port such as lower volume and also possibly a lower pitch.
When Windows installs the drivers 1st time, it may detect the microphone as speaker, so you should disable the new speaker entry that it create in the sound control panel, playback tab.
Then go into the recording tab, find the new input for the C1U, open the settings and inspect. Modify the levels if you need. To listen to the input of the mic in your headphones or speakers, then select the listen tab, tick the listen option, and apply.
I also show you how to optimise the settings inside OBS so that you get the best performance from your microphone.
The C1-U appears to be very sensitive to electronic interference, so I show you which filters to use in OBS to manage that.
I use the Noise Suppression, Noise Gate and Compressor audio filters with default settings.
The Noise Suppressions filter is good for filtering out the electronic interference you may get from close lighting, or other electronic equipment.
The Noise gate filter is good for filtering out background noises such as keyboard presses.
The Compressor filter is good for keeping an equal volume in case of occasional shouting or whispering.
Throughout the video, I compare the C1-U to using a MXL-770 with an Audient ID4 interface.
The C1-U is a self contained device that include an audio interface built into it.
