Description:
In 312 AR, mages are now commonplace once again, for both good and bad guys. Candace Aethelmey is an Oracle from Esuna who plans on participating in the Arcane Mastery Tournament, with Velvet and Ellara joining her. However, there are other formidible teams that plan to participate, such as Arthur and Ziegfriend from Xmeil and Wincy and Wayde from Saymal. The game will have the player experience the POV of these three teams, each with their own elemental specialties and unique defend commands. However, there's a sinister purpose behind this seemingly peaceful and low-stakes tournament.

The Xmeilian Empire somehow managed to reestablish itself as a global superpower, and its working with the Gemeidian Holy Order to host the Arcane Mastery Tournament.
However, Vilaz is the suspicious looking person on the title screen. Maybe he's working for Matria just like Rhetz. Or is it too obvious?
King Arandell considers Prince Arthur to be a reject for being born with dark magic, which sucks because the whole point of the Arcane Renaissance is to do away with such prejudices. I guess even after 300 years, there's still progress to be made, but it's weird because the Xmeilian who joined Lyrelle's party, Fence, used dark magic.

Candace, the holy healer and oracle, is blind without her grandpa's Gem of Sight. Fortunately, this doesn't seem to affect gameplay.
In order to join the tournament, Candace, Velvet, and Ellara have to get a special mushroom from Sylph Forest for the mayor.

I recommend grinding at the entrance until you hit level 5. This game is actually quite hard if enemies gang up on one character. Fleeing is absolute and temporarily disables the touch encounter.
At the last room, a summoner, Rufus will challenge the party because they didn't invite him to their friend group. He doesn't realize that his summons just put people off.

Maybe if I leveled to 10 first, I could have learned some AOEs to make this part easier.

We see some ominous visions of the future, including what appears to be Matria's followers.
It looks like another Oracle saw us spying on the future.

Arthur and his familiar Ziegfried are going to sneak out of the city. You have to find an antique pot to bribe the person guarding the warehouse, but when that fails, Arthur just smashes the antique over the guard's head.
